Crumbling Isms

2015-2016

Seldom in our society, we discuss life situations using words that end with "-ism." In fact, in the United States, many people have disdain for such terms, pronouncing them wordy or intellectual. However, these “isms” merely serve as terminologies that articulate our actual experiences, and, favoring them or not; they are representations of the policies that affect our world and our fate.

Crumbling Isms is a selection of complexly interconnected terms that have influenced my life and my experiences of the world. Therefore, the images of crumbled paper, combined with their ambiguous titles, pose the question whether these ideologies are being discarded (crumbled)? Or are they crushing (crumbling) our world? And the answer will rest not only within our psyches and our reflections but also in the collective actions of our generations.
