Shedding
2003
Shedding was conceived and produced in 2003, during the time when the United States drumbeat of war with Iraq had just begun.
The work is comprised of 8 interconnected installations, aiming to reflect and shed light on our government's patterns of warmongerings and bloodshed.
To construct these artworks, I used the five Chinese elemental cycles of fire, water, metal, earth, and wood, along with cloth and a video projection. The works were completed in a period of 77 days and opened to the public at the Gallery Subversive (Cedar Rapids, IA) shortly after the bombardment of Iraq began.
